What’s been happening…

We’re past the half way point for this year’s Cup Week, the fields have been competitive, track has been in lovely order and we were pleased with yesterday’s 3rd placing result from 3yo filly Showemhowitsdone in the age group 1400m race ridden by Matt Cameron. She has run into some bad luck this preparation but a nice draw this week saw her given every opportunity to produce. Elizabeth Rose finished into 7th in this race, with lots of development and maturing to come both these fillies have headed out for a well deserved break on some lovely spring grass.

A sole runner for Cup Day in the 65 2000m where Zareeba will start with Sam Collett in the saddle. She went down a lip last time out and she takes her first look around Riccarton track. The weather looks as though it will be playing its part as well with a warm day on the cards. It’s been fantastic to catch up with so many of you over the week so far and hope to do it all again this weekend, hope your day goes well and all the best to Valachi Downs with Zareeba and their other runners on the card.

Zareeba
Here she is pre race at Ashburton looking bright and ready for action. This 5yo Rip Van Winkle mare out of Surooh is set for her task ahead on Cup Day Saturday.
