Thursday 11th April 2024

Recap, A dreary day weather wise at Ashburton last Thursday but the horses certainly brightened things up with their efforts on the track! Tetbury came with a sweeping run in the mdn 1600m for a close 3rd placing a half length to the winner, and Kikimora second up in the 65 1200m also in for 3rd place. Rani Belle & Ocean Breeze on debut pleased in the mdn 1200m, both finding the post in the concluding stages and we look forward to getting these girls up over more distance. Chocolates on the day went to Annia Aurelia who blew them away in the mdn 1200m by a whopping 5 lengths at the post under Kavish Chowdhoory. A filly with an exciting future ahead!

Riccarton Saturday, We are back on the Riccarton turf this weekend with 4 runners for the card. Beginning for us in race four with the Listed Welcome Stakes for the 2yo’s over 1000m. Lil Zena & Rose of Dublin will take their places in the small field of 7. These fillies have a good chance of picking up black type off their super efforts last start. Straight into race five with Miss Layla for the 75 2000m with Donovan Cooper claiming 3kg to bring her to 56.5kg. We look forward to getting this mare over the distance before she heads out for a well deserved spell. Next up we have the Listed NZB Insurance Stakes for the 3yo fillies over 1600m where Quintabelle will jump from barrier 1. A super effort gaining black type last start in the ListedSouthland Guineas for 2nd place and we look forward to seeing this filly back on the track after a short freshen.

All the very best to connections racing Saturday we wish you good luck!

Annia Aurelia

There is no better feeling than seeing our horses perform to their best and we’ve had to be patient with this 3yo filly by Zacinto out of Lady Faustina but she is proving to be worth the wait! A positive ride from Kavish from the outset and she kicked superbly up the straight showing her talent. It also happened to be Kevin’s birthday so a great present for him to get the win with a filly be bred and owns. Congratulations to Kevin Hickman!
