Yesterday at the Riccarton Park synthetic meeting we had 5 runners engaged kicking off with Count Nico in the mdn 1200m on debut. He did some work early to overcome a sticky gate, and showed greeness up the straight but maintained his gallop for 5th. Our other debutant Pheroz Friends didn’t have much go her way from an awkward start out of the gates. From there she was checked many times and just could not get into a rhythm with a very slow pace up front, so we hope to see things go a lot smoother for this filly next time out. In the 65 1400m we had two starters, Ugo fresh up for 4th place, hitting a flat spot in the straight but kicking again to the line, and Stan With Me producing a Stan famous flashing run from the rear of the field for 3rd. Our last runner was Beau Rouge in the mdn 1600m notching up a very well deserved maiden win!

Riccarton Saturday,

A busy day awaits the team this weekend with 7 runners for the programme. We begin race 3 65 1600m with last start winner Kudos de Sothys. Onto the Listed Canterbury Belle Stakes with Defiant, Kikimora, Madame Giselle, Perfectly Suited and Blue Solitaire all to take their place from the 1200m start. Onto the last we are excited to have Elizabeth Rose back in action in the 75 1400m. It is a strong line up but she is well weighted at 56kg.

All the very best to all our connections racing on Saturday, we hope you have a great day out!

Beau Rouge

With multiple minor placing’s to his name including stakes placed, we were thrilled to get the maiden win with Beau Rouge yesterday. He jumped cleanly from the outside gate, rolled forward to sit outside the leader and proved too strong up the straight to win by a length over 1600m. A good positive ride from Jason Laking and we look forward to the season ahead with this son of Sweynesse. Congratulations to Sally and Dennis Mullally!
