We had some wonderful results from Saturday’s meeting at Riccarton Park! Not the best start though for Kudos de Sothys when the barrier next to him opened before start time and he thought that was the green light launching forward and meeting the front of the gate heavily. He was understandably slow out when the gates did open and never in the race, so we will put a line through that one. We had two fillies pick up valuable black type in the Listed Canterbury Belle Stakes with an enormous performance from Perfectly Suited flying into 2nd place with exceptional sectionals in the run home after racing at the tail of the field. Kikimora also well back in the run motored home strongly for 3rd place. Madame Giselle made up many lengths after an awkward run, Blue Solitaire was unlucky but kicked on well when clear air surfaced, and Defiant doing her best work late in for 6th. Elizabeth Rose produced a solid performance fresh up with a tough run caught wide but kicked well for 3rd place.

Some very encouraging runs from the team as we really get into Spring racing now and well done to all connections on their horses efforts.

Our Shamexpress filly ex. Suzie Kaye has had 5 starts for two 2nds, two 3rds and a 5th. She is now a stakes placed maidener and looks as though she will have an exciting 3yo campaign. We are looking forward to getting this filly up in distance to 1400m next start and she will absolutely be one to watch!
