Thursday 2nd February 2023

Recap,

Our last meeting was at Riccarton back on the 28th January with three runners, and three super efforts. Second Thought was fresh up over 2000m following a 1400m trial to finish a gallant third place in the Marlborough Cup with Kavish in the saddle, just feeling the pinch the last 50m. Blue Solitaire was ridden quietly from the widest gate, under Gee Saejorhor, then for luck waiting on clear air up the straight, and when it opened up so did she with a storming run to the line over 1400m clocking the fastest last 600m of the race. The Bold Lioness under Kavish Chowdhoory jumped from barrier 15 and found the one, one, so a brilliant bit of riding and a super effort over the 1800m from this mare to finish second.

Dunedin Saturday,

We head South with three runners for the feature meeting at Wingatui on Saturday. First up for us in the Listed Dunedin Guineas is Betty Spaghetti. This filly with a Cup Week win under her belt will jump from a somewhat niggly gate of one over the 1500m with Kavish in the saddle. The Bold Lioness is backing up into this meeting stepping up to 2200m with Krishna on board this week, and directly after her is Second Thought for the Listed Dunedin Gold Cup to pair with Kavish.

An exciting day of racing coming up and we can’t wait to see you there!

Betty Spaghetti

This Stratum Star filly out of Swiss Beauty certainly knows the winning post and has a powerful turn of foot. She was bred by Beaufort Downs who have had a cracker time with their draft at Karaka 2023. We are delighted to have her in the field for the Guineas and know it will be a good competitive race!

Good luck to R C Dennis, B, J & J Fodie, H Robinson, Botting Family, Barron Family, Robbies Betty Syndicate, Cs & Ps Syndicate, Lucky Jack Syndicate, Rackers Syndicate & Stable Investments Syndicate.

Good luck to the Clayview Farm Partnership with The Bold Lioness!

Good luck to the Voice’s & Arthur’s with Second Thought!
