Recap,

Due to the bad weather leading into races and on the day last week at Riccarton we made the decision to scratch the team and wait for things to clear. We think it was definitely the right call as the surface turned into a real wet trackers affair.

Trials,

A big team of 9 headed to the trials earlier in the week with Penvose Lad kicking things off in the 2yo 800m with a lovely trial to win happily by over 2 lengths at the post. Debutant Miss Layla put forward a good performance just showing some greeness over 800m for 3rd, and Chadillac first up for the stable gave a good sight over 1200m just getting pipped at the line. Ugo, Iffitdidit, The Seamstress, Blue Solitaire, Elizabeth Rose & Jakkalnuts all there for a fitness run before heading to the races.

Dunedin Saturday,

We head South for the Wingatui feature meeting this weekend aiming for one race, the 3yo Fillies Listed NZB Insurance Stakes over 1400m. We are fortunate to have two competitive chances in the race in Betty Spaghetti, and Madame Giselle. Betty Spaghetti was unlucky in her last outing the Dunedin Guineas finishing into 4th position. This week we have drawn lovely at 4 and have Jasmine Fawcett in the saddle. Madame Giselle is a last start winner over 1400m at Riccarton and showed real grit to kick away for the win. She has begun this preparation in the best way possible and will jump from gate 7 with Kavish Chowdhoory in the saddle.

All the very best to connections we hope to see you on course!

Betty Spaghetti

Madame Giselle

Our two 3yo fillies will go head to head in the Listed NZB Insurance Stakes on Saturday. Both fillies have won over the distance which is a good advantage.  It has drawn a strong field, it will be a competitive race and we are pumped to have two live chances. The track is currently a soft 5 with some rain forecast. Good luck to connections!
