Recap,

A bit of a tough day at Riccarton on Saturday, another firm track and hard to make up ground with the rail out so some excuses across the day but good runs coming from Pierrogrine with a close 4th in the mdn 1400m within a length of the winner, and just searching for more distance, and Second Thought with a gallant 4th in the Spring Classic.

Coming up, We head to Ashburton this Sunday taking 5 runners at this stage and unfortunately have copped horror draws for much of the card and the rain is forecast too so maybe a wait and see on some starters. Warning Signal is down for the mdn 1600m from an outside barrier, onto the mdn 2200m with Mister Goldie and Joybells both up distance and they should both appreciate that. Petty’s Legacy is in for the 74 1400m drawn one from the outer, and Madame Giselle also one from the outer in the 65 1400m. Melbourne Cup Day, Currently we have just the one runner to head to Dunedin next Tuesday in Betty Spaghetti for the 75 1600m off the back of a great win last start and Sam Wynne to remain in the saddle. All the best to those connections with runners starting.

Petty’s Legacy

Almost a year to the day Petty’s Legacy had her first start back to the races following a lengthy break due to an injury. She has returned all guns blazing and produced a massive effort for 4th in the Steward’s Handicap Trial at Ashburton back on the 16th October. We are aiming for Cup Week and her start on Sunday should get all the boxes ticked fitness wise to lead us in. A wonderful and very patient group of owners attached to this mare and we wish them all the very best of luck for her campaign!
