We have all had enough of the wet weather now, horses included, but are past the shortest day so it can only get better right!? The synthetic track will make training in the Winter so much better and it isn’t too far away from completion.   Many of the team have made their way back into the stables now following breaks at the spelling farm, along with some new arrivals, and we are soon to have our Karaka 2021 babies head our way as well. We should have a pretty exciting team of horses to line up throughout next season.   There is one runner for us at Timaru this Thursday and that is Lapis Lazuli. She produced a wow effort last start on the course with a powerful run from the tail of the field to within a half head of the winner. She will receive another wet track which she seems to relish and Sam Wynne will retain the ride.   Hope you are all keeping dry and warm!

Lapis Lazuli

Valachi owned and bred 3yo Redwood filly out of Ametrine impressed in her maiden win, and she reclaimed that form last Sunday at Timaru with a flying run for 2nd. Let’s hope she can go one better this week and get the win for Joanna and Kevin Hickman. Good luck to Valachi.
