Recap, A brilliant day at Riccarton on Saturday with the stable grabbing a double in the testing heavy 10 conditions. Lady’s Legacy under Shankar Muniandy produced a superb effort to win the Coupland’s Bakeries Maiden 1400m, with a positive ride and an awesome result making it win number 1 from start 7. Next to go was Penvose Lad in race 5 at just start 2 he blew them away to win the D Reynolds Electrical Two Year Old 1000m with Kavish Chowdhoory in the saddle. Betty Spaghetti put forward a brave 4th placing in the Listed Warstep Stakes, and Miss Layla got shunted about but certainly did not disgrace herself in her third race on the bounce. Onto the last and Ugo relished the step up in distance to the 65 1800m with a good solid rolling run coming down the outer fence to finish a very close 3rd place under a great ride from Kavish.

Champagne Double Lady’s Legacy

With multiple minor placing’s to her name this 4yo Highly Recommended mare delighted her owners and us with a tough win on her home track. Not loving the conditions under foot she showed true grit and kicked hard for the win!

Coming up, We head to Timaru tomorrow where the track is an unbelievable good 4! Things kick off early in race one with Mister Goldie to start in the mdn c,g&e 1200m and Michael McNab in the saddle. He is fresh up and will be looking to get over ground quickly. Kikimora is next up race 2 the 65 1200m and has a good gate of 3 so would love to see her bounce out from there with Krishna Mudhoo to do the riding. Joybells currently sits on the ballot awaiting a start in the mdn f&m 1200m, and Kudos de Sothys will round out the day race 7 the 65 1600m and Krishna on board.

Penvose Lad

Going from strength to strength our 2yo U.S Navy Flag gelding has shown immense improvement training on from his debut 2nd and once balanced in the straight showed a powerful turn of foot to put the remainder of the field away by nearly 4 lengths. He now looks towards the Listed Champagne Stakes on May 6th at Riccarton.

Huge congratulations to winning connections!
